I have never been involved in politics nor have I been an activist of any kind. Like most Americans, I know what issues affect my family and my life. I follow those issues and vote for the person with the best ideas and solutions. I was born and raised in a small steel town. I had a Catholic upbringing attending a Catholic elementary school, high school and college. I took away two important values by which I live my life; actions speak louder than words and strive for peace and justice. The former was drilled into my young mind by my sixth grade teacher Sister Angelina the latter was from a unique man who taught religion class at my High School. I attended The University of Dayton, a Catholic university, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I later completed a Master’s degree in Engineering from Purdue University. I am currently a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Brighton with my wife Amy and our thirteen month old boy Cameron.

As an engineer I’ve worked in teams that solved problems by compromise and consensus and I have also led teams to achieve success. I make decisions by listening to both sides of an argument and truly understanding the positions of each side. I then seek out independent facts on the matter to craft my own decisions. Currently, our representatives in Congress have not been able to agree on anything. Both sides in Congress are taking an 'all or nothing' approach and we the American people are left with threats of government shutdowns, lowered credit ratings, and large losses in our 401Ks and other savings. There has not been an ounce of effort put forth to a compromise and I've had enough. I want to represent the 8th Congressional District of Michigan to solve the problems that threaten my generation and my child’s. I promise that I will work to get results, not more gridlock and divisiveness under the shroud of party principles. My commitment is to the people of Michigan and not to any lobbyist.
